Getting glasses shouldn't feel like a transaction.
At a chain optical, the exam and the dispensary are two different worlds. The person fitting your glasses never saw your eye health report. They don't know you had a tricky prescription adjustment last year. They're optimizing their upsell, not your vision.
At South Shore Eye Associates, the same team handles both — start to finish. That continuity means glasses that actually work for your eyes, not just your budget tier.
From prescription to perfect fit in one visit.
One location, one trusted team, no runaround. Here's what your visit looks like.
Your Comprehensive Eye Exam
We don't just check your prescription. We screen for glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and systemic health indicators. Your exam gives us the full picture — not just your refraction numbers.
Browse Our Frame Selection
Our optical dispensary carries a wide selection for every style, face shape, and budget — adults, seniors, and children. Take your time. Our team is here to help, not to push.
Expert Fitting by Your Team
The same people who know your eyes and your history help fit your frames. Proper fitting means better vision, better comfort, and glasses that actually stay where they should.
Pick Up Your Glasses, See Clearly
When your glasses are ready, we do a final fit check. If anything needs adjustment — now or six months from now — we're here. Adjustments are always complimentary.
Not all lenses are the same. We'll help you find yours.
The right lens depends on how you live, not just how you see. Our team discusses your daily demands — work, screen time, driving, sports — before recommending.
Single Vision
One prescription zone — for distance, reading, or computer use. The workhorse of eyewear. Most patients under 40 start here.
Progressive Lenses
Seamless correction for distance, intermediate, and near — no bifocal line. The modern choice for presbyopia. Takes a short adjustment period; we guide you through it.
Computer / Office Lenses
Optimized for 20–30 inches — ideal for screens and desk work. Reduces eye strain and headaches for patients who work at a computer most of the day.
Photochromic (Light-Adaptive)
Darken outdoors in UV light, clear indoors. One pair of glasses that handles both environments. Great for patients who move between sun and office frequently.
Anti-Reflective Coating
Eliminates glare from headlights and screens. Makes your lenses nearly invisible in photos. Most patients who try AR coating never go back — it's worth it.
Kids' Lenses
Impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses built for active kids. We also stock myopia management lens options for children whose prescriptions are changing rapidly.
Frames for every face, style, and budget.
Our optical dispensary carries a wide selection of frames — contemporary, classic, designer, and value options. Adults, seniors, kids. We'll help you narrow down what actually suits you, not just what's trending.
Crucially: our fitting team knows your prescription and your exam results. If you have a high prescription that limits certain frame styles, or a progressive lens that needs a minimum frame depth, we catch that before you fall in love with the wrong pair.
Why fitting matters more than you think
Poorly fitted glasses cause headaches, blurred vision, and eye strain — even with a perfect prescription. Pupillary distance (PD), segment height, frame tilt — these details matter. We measure them. Chains frequently don't.
Adjustments, always complimentary
Frames slip. Nose pads need tweaking. If your glasses ever need an adjustment — this year, next year, any year you're our patient — bring them in. We'll take care of it, no charge.
Clear vision shouldn't be held hostage by confusing costs.
We tell you what your insurance covers before you choose frames — not after. No surprises at checkout.
Insurance Accepted
We accept major vision insurance plans. We'll verify your benefits before your visit and walk you through your frame and lens allowances before you pick anything.

"I've had glasses for 20 years. Never had a pair fit this well or feel this right. They walked me through every lens option, told me honestly what my insurance covered, and helped me find frames that actually suit my face. Complete opposite of LensCrafters."— Patient, Easton
"I switched to progressive lenses for the first time and was nervous about the adjustment. They explained exactly what to expect, chose frames with the right dimensions for progressives, and checked in when I picked up to make sure they felt right. That level of care is why I won't go anywhere else."— Patient, Stoughton
"My daughter got her first pair of glasses here. The team was patient, let her pick frames she was actually excited about, and spent time making sure they fit properly. She wore them the whole drive home — that says everything."— Parent, North Easton
